Greevavasthi is a procedure in which Luke warm medicated Oil is poured over the Neck and retained in that area for a certain period of time. Greeva in Sanskrit refers to Neck, Patients suffering from Neck pain, Stiff neck due to the strain in the neck owing to nature of work as in the case of software engineers, continuous travel, ageing or any other causative factors are recommended for Greevavasthi.

A sealed boundary is made from wheat, black gram or any other suitable herb in the Neck region. The lukewarm medicated oil is then poured over the surface of the neck into the boundary in a constant and continuous stream. This oil should be retained for certain duration of time. Depending on the condition, the oil inside the boundary can soaked up, made lukewarm and the process can be repeated again or Fresh oil can also be used.
